My book reviews normally focus on middle grade science fiction. I loved this book so much I’m including it, even if it is fantasy. Although, it does have an underlying environmental message: if someone wants to build a road through the middle of your forest, check them out carefully. They are probably looking for a huge profit for themselves.
Jiho Park accepts a job as a safety consultant with the foreign corporation building a road through his local forest. His local enchanted forest filled with evil supernatural beasts. Predictably, the 14-year-old and his new young friends get stranded in the forest. They find safety with the sprite-like Namushin. They soon find themselves at the center of political intrigue and a desperate fight to save not only the kingdom but the very forest itself.
